Stara Planina (the Balkan range) stretches across the whole of Bulgaria — 555 kilometres from Belogradchik to the Black Sea. Botev (2376 m) is its highest peak, and Raysko Praskalo below it is the tallest waterfall on the Balkan Peninsula. With Epic Tours you'll walk the classic hut-to-hut traverse of Central Balkan, visit the rock formations of Belogradchik and the Skaklya and Bovska Skaklya waterfalls, and climb Kozya Stena and Botev by different routes. Unlike Rila and Pirin, Stara Planina is a soft, green mountain of high ridges, wide pastures and many rare animals in its protected areas. In winter we lead the classic winter ascent of Botev here, and in summer, multi-day hikes with nights in mountain huts.

For people with little kayaking experience. A high level of physical endurance is not required, but you must be able to spend at least 1 hour in the kayak. You don't need to know how to swim. You can paddle at sea too, but in a K2 kayak.
