Winter ascent of Musala
7:00 AM: Departure from the "Vasil Levski" stadium for people using organized transportation.
8:00 AM: Our meeting point is in front of the ticket counters of the gondola lift for people traveling by private transport.
Upon arrival, the leaders will give a brief overview to the group, provide instructions, and check the equipment. We'll pack our backpacks and set off to execute the day's plan.
After purchasing lift tickets, we reach its highest point, saving us positive elevation gain. Around 9:00 AM, we should start briskly walking along the route. The first intermediate stop is the popular Musala Hut. After that, we have a slightly steeper climb, but with enough rest stops, it won't pose a difficulty for anyone. The next resting spot is the Icy Lake Shelter. From here, the final push towards the peak awaits, involving navigating via metal ropes. This is where crampons and an ice axe might be used. Under the guidance of our experienced leader, you'll tackle the last stage of the ascent.
And here you are, at the summit! The view from 2925 meters is worth the effort. Proudly, you can boast that you've ascended the Balkans' highest peak. We'll proudly display the Bulgarian tricolor to honor the holiday.
We'll allocate time for photos and rest.

Tour Itinerary
8:15/8:30ч: Срещата ни е пред касите на кабинковия лифт в Боровец с хората избрали пътуване с личен транспорт. След пристигане ще закупим билети за кабинковия лифт, който ще ни качи до 2345мн.в. Това ще ни спести положителна денивелация. Водачите правят кратък брифинг на групата и инструктаж, проверка на екипировката. Слагаме раничките на гръб и потегляме да изпълним плана за деня.
Първа междинна спирка е така популярната хижа Мусала (2389мн.в), на около 1 час от горната станция на лифта.
След х.Мусала имаме едно малко по-стръмно изкачване с достатъчно почивчици, няма да представлява трудност за никой. Следващото място за отдих е заслон Ледено езеро (2740мн.в), на около 1 час и 30 минути от хижа Мусала. Ще направим една по-дълга почивка преди финалната атака на върха. Тука е мястото, на което ще сложим и котките за последния участък. Последната част е обезопасена с метално въже. Под напътсвията на нашия опитен водач ще преминете и последния етап от изкачването.
И ето, че вече сте на върха! Гледката от 2925м си заслужава усилията. Гордо може да се похвалите, че сте изкачили първенеца на Балканите. Ще отделим време за снимки и почивка.
Връщането на обратно е по същата пътека до горната станция на лифт Ястребец.
