Batashki Snezhnik – a Winter Ascent
Batashki Snezhnik is one of the highest peaks in the Rhodopes. It stands in the Western Rhodopes and is celebrated for the remarkable panoramas you will have the chance to take in.
The route suits people in good physical condition. The walk has no technical sections, but it is a long one.

Tour Itinerary
Anyone coming by car meets directly in Batak. We will send you the exact location.
Once the group has gathered, the guide gives a short briefing and checks the equipment, and we are ready for the walk.
We are mostly on a forest road, and before long the panoramas begin to surprise us. The Batak reservoir spreads out wide, its mirror-like water reflecting the sun. Somewhere in the distance Rila stands out as well.
We gain height steadily, almost imperceptibly, surrounded by conifer forest. Before long the forest gives way and we come out onto a broad plateau, where we can catch sight of the summit. About 200 m of ascent remain, but we are confident the motivation will be strong and you will find yourself on the top before you notice it.
We allow time for a rest and lunch, and return by the same way.

Headlamp - An absolute must-have accessory for every mountaineer. It may be necessary for the group to start a trek very early or finish the trek in the dark (force majeure). About 40 liters backpack - Quite enough for one or two day hikes. Please come to treks with a backpack suitable for trekking. Very often, each participant needs to attach snowshoes to their backpack, and this cannot happen with urban backpacks
