A Journey to Svishti Plaz at the End of Autumn

+3

It is time to see autumn out with an exhilarating walk to one of the high summits of the Zlatitsa-Teteven mountains, Svishti Plaz. Seen from the Zlatitsa-Pirdop basin, it stands out for its imposing silhouette and the characteristic ridges falling away to the south. This proud representative of the Balkan Range draws people not only by its natural beauty but by the intriguing legends and scholarly theories about the origin of its name.
🟢 The programme suits beginners who are ready for a little more effort (beginner plus). 🟢

Tour Itinerary

The transfer to Kashana hut takes around an hour and a half.
On arrival we sort our packs, run the briefing and talk through the route, then set off for the summit. From the very start we follow the winter waymarking, which quickly brings us to the foot of Kapalu peak. We traverse below it and come out onto the open ridge, from where the day's remaining objectives stand out clearly. At a brisk pace we continue up the gentle gradient to Kurduna peak, which gives us a front-row view of the main event of our journey. After a short, easy descent we stand before the magnificent bulk of Svishti Plaz, ready for the final climb. From the summit, breathtaking panoramas open over the surrounding peaks and valleys - the ideal place for a rest and photographs. Once we have taken in the views we head back on a circular route that returns us to Kashana hut.
