Tour Itinerary
The transfer to the Rila Lakes lift takes about 2 hours. On arrival we take the lift up and get off at the hut of the same name. We put on snowshoes and head for the Ivan Vazov hut. Along the way we pass the Seven Lakes hut, climb the col below Haramiyata peak and drop into the cirque of the Chanagyol lakes. If conditions are right and the group is going well we will climb Haramiyata, which rises above the cirque of the Seven Lakes. Then comes the climb to Razdela and the final descent to the Ivan Vazov hut, where a well-earned rest beside the warm stove awaits.
We rise before the first rays of the sun. Today we climb Golyam Kalin (2,669 m) - one of the imposing twin brothers that stand like guards above the quiet Pazardere. From the summit we will enjoy hidden Rila cirques wrapped in snow and ice, and capture unforgettable panoramas over the snowbound Rila wilderness with its endless white horizons. We then descend back to the hut, gather our luggage and head for the Razdela col, and from there to the lift. In the late afternoon we reach the transport and set off for Sofia, stopping on the way at a welcoming local restaurant to celebrate the adventure.
