Haramiyata – Alpine Beauty among the Seven Rila Lakes – Rila

Haramiyata – Alpine Beauty among the Seven Rila Lakes

The focus of this programme is the beautiful Haramiyata peak at 2,465 m, and a circuit of some of the lakes.
Everyone has heard of the Seven Lakes in Rila. In the area of their cirque stands the imposing „alpine guard“ that rises beside the shores of Bliznaka lake.
Also called Tsarnata Skala or Haydutat, Haramiyata stands in the Damga part of the Rila range, on the ridge that runs north from the Razdela locality on the crest by Damga peak.

Tour Itinerary

Transfer to Panichishte. Meeting point: the lift to the Rila Lakes hut.

Before boarding the lift we hold a short briefing and safety instruction for the group. We check the equipment and are ready for today's adventure. The Rila Lakes hut is the starting point for our walk. From here we set off at a brisk pace towards the summit, the way taking us first to the Fish lake and the old Seven Lakes hut, where we will take a short break.

The real climb begins, but without chasing any sporting records we will work through the height to be gained. The route is varied, with steeper sections in places that we will cross carefully. As we climb the scenery becomes more and more beautiful and makes us stop for a moment. We take a deep breath and head up again.

And here we are on the summit, which looked so steep and difficult but was in fact only deceiving us with its forbidding pyramid. This is the time for photographs and a rest. Slowly and carefully we set off back to our starting point.

If the group would like, we can have a late lunch at the Malkata Yurta by the Pionerska hut.
