The winter mountains can be beautiful, but also very dangerous. That makes it essential to pay close attention to what we know about moving safely in winter conditions.
This one-day avalanche safety course is aimed at anyone who wants to walk or ski tour in winter. The INTRO course is the opening stage of your avalanche safety training; its purpose is to give you the basic skills and knowledge that you can then build on in more advanced courses.
The training is primarily practical.
Travel in the mountains is on snowshoes or touring skis, with participants moving as a group to and from the meeting point. If you do not have snowshoes, get in touch with us. If you already have ski touring equipment, you are welcome to use it.
The course is led by an instructor who is a mountain rescuer.
