Tour Itinerary
We drive to the Betolovoto area. The group gathers here and the mountain guide gives the briefing and an equipment check. Our first goal of the day is to reach the welcoming Yavorov hut. The walk runs through forest and takes about an hour and a half. We check in, rest and eat well, then carry on to the place with one of the most stunning panoramas - Pogledets. From here we take in the beautiful alpine edges of Sredonosa and Koteshki Chal. After a good photo session we are ready to head back to the hut.
An early start, breakfast, and with fresh legs we begin gaining height through the valley of the Suhodolska river towards the main Pirin ridge. Gradually we leave the forest belt and the natural phenomenon of the Steps opens up before us, along with the sheer walls of Razlozhki Suhodol (2,728 m). We climb steadily towards the upper reaches of the cirque and after several hours reach the Suhodol col. In the distance we see Banski Suhodol, Kutelo and Vihren, and our goal for the day - Albutin peak. Before long we are standing on the summit itself. The views from here are genuinely impressive. Smiling and content, we take a group photograph and set off down.
