Kapatnik Peak (2,170 m) is the southernmost two-thousander in Rila and marks the edge of the range's south-western section - a country of long ridges and summits, modest in height but rich in views. The most striking of them looks out to Pirin, so close you feel you could reach out and touch its marble crests. Kapatnik also opens up the Rhodopes, the Vlahina and Maleshevska mountains, and in the distance even the Balkan Range. A panorama that stays with you.

Tour Itinerary
The transfer to the Predela pass takes around 2 hours.
The climb begins gently on a dirt track winding upstream along the local river. With every step we move deeper into the shade of the thick forest hidden beneath the peak's southern ridge. The trees gradually give way to open slopes, and the final stretch delivers the real reward - a wide panorama over Rila, the great massif of Pirin, the green Rhodopes, the distant Balkan Range, and the nearer Vlahina and Maleshevska mountains. Views that turn every effort on the way up into pure pleasure.
