We will visit the Bovska Skaklya waterfall - one of the highest in Bulgaria - and then climb Bula peak, which will reward us with remarkable green panoramas looking out over the whole ring of Skaklya, the village of Zasele and the magnificent Vratsa Balkan. Tour Itinerary
The transfer to the village of Bov takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. On arrival we sort out our packs, go briefly over the route and set off along the path towards the waterfall.
The walk begins on a broad path that crosses the forest, revealing striking views of the waterfall in places. Almost before we know it we are beneath its spray, and after this section a steeper climb awaits on a stony path in the open. It will bring us to the edge of the rock ring, from which panoramic views of the Iskar gorge and the whole surrounding country open up.
At midday we will have the chance to eat at a local restaurant in the village of Zasele, or to have a picnic on the open meadow above the waterfall. After a short break we head for the next objective of the day - Bula peak. It is one of the emblematic summits of the Ponor mountains and offers staggering 360-degree panoramic views. We will take time to enjoy the beauty around us, after which we head back towards the start of the Vazov eco-trail. In suitable conditions and with a group going well, we may take an alternative route.

Suitable shoes for the mountain, according to the weather forecast. High ankle or low shoes. You may wear sneakers to change into at the end of the program

Headlamp - An absolute must-have accessory for every mountaineer. It may be necessary for the group to start a trek very early or finish the trek in the dark (force majeure). In these situations, each participant must have a headlamp. We recommend going with a proven brand like Petzl or BlackDiamond
