Tour Itinerary

The transfer to the Panitsite locality takes about 2:30 hours. On arrival we sort out our packs, go over what lies ahead and set off along the route.
Stage 1: Panitsite - Ray hut - Raysko Praskalo ~ 4:00 h / ~ + 700 m / ~ 9 km
Today's walk starts from the Panitsite locality. Along the way we alternate open ground with shade beneath the ancient beech forest of the Southern Dzhendem. On reaching the hut we will have time to rest and recover our strength. Once we have enjoyed the views we will walk to the highest permanently flowing waterfall on the Balkan peninsula - Rayskoto Praskalo.

10.0 km 900 meters 5 hours

Today we rise early, have breakfast and sort out our packs to set off for the highest peak of the Balkan range. The real body of the weekend's trek awaits, with considerable ascent and distance to cover.
Stage 1: Ray hut - Botev peak ~ 3:30 h / ~ + 945 m / ~ 4.5 km
Ahead of us is one of the most exciting and scenic mountain paths, named in honour of the legendary meteorologist and mountaineer Todor Bozhkov - Tarzan. On reaching the summit we will have the chance to enjoy a 360-degree view. Here we will have time to take photographs, recover our strength and prepare for the long descent.
Stage 2: Botev peak - Panitsite ~ 5:00 – 6:00 h / ~ + 170 m, ~ − 1,700 m / ~ 14 km
After the break it is time to set off on the long way down to Panitsite. Depending on the time we have, the condition of the group and the weather, we will decide whether to return by the same route or take another way back.

Important:

In the event of a change in weather conditions during the tour or other unforeseen situations, the guide may change the route or offer another alternative option to the participants for their safety.
If the program cannot happen due to bad weather forecast, the organizer will refund 100% of the price to the participants
In order to take part in the tour, you must be in good physical health and condition, and notify the organizer in case you have any illnesses or injuries
If the number of participants is less than the minimum 6 and the program will not happen, the organizer will notify all registered participants up to 7 days before the event

Headlamp - An absolute must-have accessory for every mountaineer. It may be necessary for the group to start a trek very early or finish the trek in the dark (force majeure). In these situations, each participant must have a headlamp. We recommend going with a proven brand like Petzl or BlackDiamond
