Tour Itinerary
We set off towards Greece, past Bansko and Gotse Delchev, to the Falakro ski centre at 1,740 m above sea level. Here we leave the cars, check the group over, take a safety briefing from the mountain guide and set off for the highest point of the mountain.
Bozdag is a mountain in northern Greece; locally it is called Falakro, which translates as „the grey mountain“. It lies south of the town of Gotse Delchev. Its highest summit is Prophet Elijah at 2,232 m, and that is our objective for the day. The walk is easy and within everyone's reach. In clear weather we will enjoy remarkable views towards Pirin, the Rhodopes and Pangaion. The route climbs steadily, with about 600 m of ascent in total.
On the way up we will pass the Snow Cave and take a brief look inside. The cave is 111 m deep, the temperature never rises above 1 °C and there is always snow in it. The walk passes beneath sheer rock faces, which are well protected, and from which an extraordinary panorama opens up.
Once we reach the summit: photographs, smiles, a cup of fragrant tea, and we head back down.
The day does not end there.
It is time for the pleasures of the spa. We will sink into a mineral pool to recover from the day in the mountains.
Nights are in double and triple rooms, depending on availability.
Places are reserved for the evening in the hotel restaurant.
Entry to the pool is NOT included in the price and is at each participant's choice.
The walk is a genuinely easy and undemanding one, just right for a Sunday.

Headlamp - An absolute must-have accessory for every mountaineer. It may be necessary for the group to start a trek very early or finish the trek in the dark (force majeure). In these situations, each participant must have a headlamp. We recommend going with a proven brand like Petzl or BlackDiamond

About 40 liters backpack - Quite enough for one or two day hikes. Please come to treks with a backpack suitable for trekking. Very often, each participant needs to attach snowshoes to their backpack, and this cannot happen with urban backpacks
