Kobilini Steni - the magic of the Vratsa Balkan Mountains

The Vratsa Balkan is a unique place for walks during autumn. We chose to go precisely in October because the broadleaf forests change their appearance into golden hues, just before winter sets in. Kobilini Steni is the rock phenomenon there that must be visited at least once, especially during this time of the year. We'll hike several peaks in a day, one of which is the oldest one in the Vratsa Balkan - Beglichka Mogila.

Tour Itinerary

Departure time: 7:00 AM

7:30 a.m. departure from the Vasil Levski Stadium in Sofia.

Upon arrival at the Parshevitsa Hut, the guides will provide a brief to the group and safety instructions. We'll pack our backpacks and set off to fulfill the plan for the day.

Our starting point is the Parshevitsa Hut, from where we climb towards the peak with the same name. After reaching it, we'll traverse along the edge of Kobilini Steni towards the oldest peak of the beautiful Vratsa Balkan - Beglichka Mogila (1481.4m). The trail passes through the beautiful meadow of Krastanova Mogila and the peak Dudil. Along the Ushi path, we reach a crossroad where a pleasant descent begins towards the Borov Kamak monument. After a refreshing break, we continue the final part of our hike back to the Parshevitsa Hut.
